This may just be my opinion but I think Forest is a way better warrior then Henry because Forest saved people and Henry was scared of war.
In The Red Badge of Courage, Henry Fleming, known as "young soldier", he was in the Union Army or Civil War as some people call it. He was untested in battle, had questions of his own courage and encounters with hard times about the experiecce of war. Within a few days at war he changes from a tempestuous and immature adolescent to a war-weary adult. Henry Fleming ran from battle because he was scared and thought he wasn't ready for such a challenge. The only reason he went into war was to make himself look stronger and to impress the girls.
In the movie, Forest Gump, he was prepared for the troubles and challenges of the war. Forest fought in the Vietnam War, he followed his orders well without distractions. He didnt run from war he ran for war, because he was prepared for the commitment of the war. Forest got the Medals of Honor forbid bravery in Vietnam, because he rescued a bunch of the other soilders including his luetenant even though he only went back for Bubba but out of the goodness of his heart he helped the others.
Even after all the research and information on both of these soldiers I still think that Forest Gump is a braver and better soldier than Henry Fleming ever could be. In that comment it seems that they both should and will be remember for their brave acts in wars.
